How we handle your data and protect your privacy

Entity: Mr. Roast LLC (“Mr. Roast,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates Mr. Roast (“App”).

1. Overview

This Policy explains how we collect and use information when you use the App. By installing or using Mr. Roast, you agree to this Policy.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account Info: Email address and name if you create an account.
  • Usage Data: Interactions, session length, and error logs.
  • Device Data: Model, OS version, and performance metrics.
  • Purchases: Handled entirely by Apple In-App Purchase or other secure third-party processors; we do not collect or store payment data.
  • Analytics: Anonymous metrics to improve performance.

We do not track your location, contacts, microphone, or your entire photo library. We only access the specific images you choose to upload.

3. Image Processing, AI, and Biometric Data

Images and text you submit are transmitted directly from your device to our AI provider (Gemini API) to generate your roast.

  • •Ephemeral Processing: Mr. Roast LLC does not store, retain, or access these uploads.
  • •Biometric Data: To generate the roast, the AI may temporarily process facial geometry. This biometric data is processed only in real-time and is permanently destroyed immediately after the video is rendered. It is never stored, sold, or shared.
  • •No AI Training: Data submitted through our App is not used by Mr. Roast LLC or our AI provider (Google/Gemini API) to train foundational AI models.
  • •Local Storage: If you exit the roast player before exporting a video, temporary cache data is deleted. Rendered videos remain local to your device; we never upload or store them on our servers.

5. Information Sharing

We only share limited data with:

  • Service Providers: For authentication (e.g., Supabase), analytics, or hosting.
  • Legal Requirements: When required by law, subpoena, or to protect our legal rights.

We never sell your personal information to third parties.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

We keep account and analytics data only as long as necessary to provide the Service. Image uploads and generated videos are ephemeral and automatically deleted from our processing pipeline immediately after generation.

7. Security

We use industry-standard encryption and restricted access to protect your information. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

8. Your Privacy Rights (Including California/CCPA)

Depending on your location, you may have specific rights regarding your data. All users may:

    Opt out of non-essential analytics in Settings → Privacy

California residents: We do not “sell” or “share” your personal information as defined by the CCPA.

9. Children's Privacy (Age 18+)

The App is intended strictly for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 18. If we become aware that we have collected data from a minor, we will take steps to delete that information immediately.

10. International Transfers

Data may be processed on servers located in the United States. By using the App, you consent to the transfer and processing of your data in the U.S.

11. Changes to Policy

We may update this Policy and will post a new “Last Updated” date. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the new Policy.
